We recommend that you begin the application process for a new passport at least six months before your current passport expires. The process from application to receipt may take some time as the information is processed in Malabo. Passports are printed and shipped from CNEDOGE headquarters.

If you have any questions, please contact the Consular Section by phone or by sending an email to Washington@cnedoge.gq with a copy to consular@egembassdc.com, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

5. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING AND AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?

DURING THE APPOINTMENT:

If this is your first biometric passport and your biometric data has not been collected by CNEDOGE before, after completing the application we will need for you to come IN PERSON to Washington, D.C so we can collect your fingerprints and an official photo. If you are renewing your biometric passports and CNEDOGE confirms they still have your biometric data you may not need to travel to DC.

During your appointment, consular staff will take your fingerprints, digital signature, and official photos, in addition to verifying all your documents. You may also have to answer additional questions to corroborate your identity. This process takes approximately 45 minutes.

Kindly note the dress code for your official photo. Try not to wear overly revealing clothing that could expose your shoulders and avoid V-neck shirts and low-cut tops.

AFTER THE APPOINTMENT:

After completing this last procedure, all you have to do is wait patiently. When your new passport arrives at the Embassy, we will contact you to arrange shipping or pickup. Shipping costs will be the applicant's responsibility.
